If you are looking for the best shows on Amazon Prime, you'll have no trouble finding what you're looking for. Listed below are a few of my favorite new shows on Amazon Prime.
The sketch comedy group "The Kids in the Hall" are known for their outrageous cross-dressing and seemingly endless supply of memorable characters. In most of the sketches, the five main cast members play every character, along with writer Paul Bellini, numerous extras, and occasionally even a real woman. There is a never-ending cast of recurring characters, from the stressed out businessman Danny Husk to the monarchy, from the lonely young rock star Bobby Tarrance to the gay bar owner Buddy Cole, from the occult TV program host Simon and his sidekick Hecubus to the scheming secretaries Cathy and Kathy.
Invincible is also one of the best shows on Amazon Prime. Based on the Image Comics series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, Invincible is an adult animated superhero television series that debuted on Amazon Prime Video. Teenager Mark Grayson (Mark Grayson) is mentored by his father, the world's most powerful being (Omni-Man), as he becomes a superhero in this animated series. Mark has to balance his personal life and his superhero duties during his metamorphosis, and he has to prove that he can be as heroic as his father. The show's primary cast consists of Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, and J. K. Simmons, with the remainder of the ensemble appearing in reoccurring roles. Inspired by the Skybound Image comic book series about a young man whose father is the world's greatest superhero, this animated series is aimed towards an adult audience.
When talking about the best shows on Amazon Prime, I bet you may want to put the Mozart in the Jungle on the list. In "Mozart in the Jungle on Amazon Prime," the conflict between a bad-behaving genius and his stodgy predecessor is immediately clear as Maestro Thomas' last performance concludes. When young Rodrigo is appointed as the new conductor, he turns the baton into a rose, promising to make changes to the orchestra. Meanwhile, the life of a struggling female oboist is upended when auditions turn her life upside down as she desperately looks for gigs.
While Mozart is the titular hero of the series, the film adaptation has an important political message. It depicts the struggles faced by the orchestra, as well as the union that aims to protect the interests of its performers. In addition to these concerns, the series also examines the lives of the performers. The actors portraying the performers in Mozart in the Jungle are Saffi Burrows, Malcolm McDowell, and Lola Kirke.
Mozart in the Jungle on Amazon Prime starts with Maestro Thomas' final bow with the New York Symphony. He is replaced by the charismatic, young Rodrigo, who transforms the baton into a rose. The conflict between the genius and his stodgy predecessor becomes apparent when Rodrigo receives a review of Thomas' last concert. Meanwhile, a female oboist scrambling for gigs is transformed by a series of auditions.
The four-part BBC drama Ordeal by Innocence debuted in April of 2018. This is the third film adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel to air in the English-speaking world. An ensemble cast including Morven Christie, Bill Nighy, Anna Chancellor, Alice Eve, and Eleanor Tomlinson stars in the drama. Rachel Argyll, a wealthy heiress who lived with her husband Leo, their five adopted children Mary, Mickey, Jack, Tina, and Hester, and their maid Kirsten Lindquist, was found bludgeoned to death in their mansion. Fingerprints matching Jack's are discovered on the weapon police believe was used in the murder, leading to his arrest; however, he is murdered in jail before he can face charges.
David Shore and Bryan Cranston co-created the American crime thriller series Sneaky Pete. In order to hide from his background, recently released inmate Marius Josipovi (Giovanni Ribisi) takes on the persona of his cellmate Pete Murphy. Besides Marin Ireland and Shane McRae, Libe Barer, Michael Drayer, Peter Gerety, and Margo Martindale also star in the show. After the pilot's premiere on August 7, 2015, a full series order was placed in September of the same year. When Shore departed the project in the beginning of 2016, Graham Yost took over as executive producer and showrunner for the final nine episodes. On January 13, 2017, the whole first season debuted on Amazon Prime Video. Third, Amazon renewed Sneaky Pete for a second season on January 19, 2017, and it premiered on March 9, 2018. It was reported on July 28, 2018, that Amazon had renewed the show for a third season, and on May 10, 2019, the new episodes began streaming.
The Man in the High Castle is a television series based on the 1962 novel by Philip K. Dick. This award-winning series is produced by Ridley Scott and Frank Spotnitz. It explores what would happen if the Allied Powers lost World War II, and it stars Rufus Sewell as John Adams. It is also starring Luke Kleintank, who played the lead in Pretty Little Liars.
The third season opens on a tense note. The episode begins with an incident in which Joe is accused of being a Nazi agent. After being accused of spying, Frank and Juliana confront him, who says he is a Nazi agent. Joe returns to New York to deliver a film to Smith, but Smith refuses to accept his resignation unless he is able to find the gunman.
Meanwhile, Juliana discovers that her sister and children were murdered by the Japanese. Juliana reports to the Japanese and is interrogated about how she met Trudy. She is let loose by the Japanese military after a lengthy interrogation. Meanwhile, Joe returns from the Neutral Zone and meets with Smith. He is kidnapped by Gestapo agents. The trio makes a decision that impacts the future of their family.
