If you're looking for some funny movies on Netflix, you've come to the right place. Netflix has tons of funny movies to choose from, including classics and new releases. No matter what genre you enjoy, you'll find it on Netflix. If you're looking for something a little bit different, consider the many comedy classics on Netflix. We've outlined a few of our favorites below.
In his directorial debut, Boots Riley wrote and directed Sorry to Bother You, a 2018 American surrealist black comedy. Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson, Jermaine Fowler, Omari Hardwick, Terry Crews, Patton Oswalt, David Cross, Danny Glover, Steven Yeun, and Armie Hammer star. The film portrays a young black telemarketer who develops a white accent to succeed at his work. In a corporate scheme, he must choose between profit and labor organizing with his activist comrades.
Cassius "Cash" Green and his artist girlfriend Detroit reside in his uncle Sergio's garage. Cash becomes a RegalView telemarketer to make rent. Cash struggles with customers until Langston, an older coworker, encourages him to utilize his "white voice" and seem rich on calls, which Cash succeeds at.
Though Cash is first unhappy with the position, he is celebrated at work, and can now afford a new apartment, a flashy new automobile, and pays off Sergio's house (in the process keeping him from joining WorryFree) (in the process keeping him from joining WorryFree). He quits the union push and Detroit quits RegalView to avoid clashing loyalties while covertly joining the anti-WorryFree Left Eye Faction. She breaks up with Cash, claiming his unethical career has transformed him, while he claims he deserves to be proud of his accomplishment. He uninvitedly attends Detroit's art display and performance, where she employs her own white voice. One morning, a picketer stabs Cash with a drink can. The thrower becomes an Internet meme and signs a sponsorship with the soda brand she tossed.
Stop-motion animated horror comedy film Wendell & Wild, set for release in 2022 and directed by Henry Selick from a script written by Selick and Jordan Peele (who are also producers) and based on an unpublished book by Selick and Clay McLeod Chapman, will be released in the United States. Angela Bassett, Lyric Ross, James Hong, and Ving Rhames appear alongside Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele in the lead roles.
If you're on the fence about watching a funny movie named The Other Guys on Netflix, you're not alone. Thousands of other people are, too. The film's throughline is keeping an eye on America's inequitable power system. McKay's first film, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, featured Mark Wahlberg's maniacal voice shouting "let him fly!" The film was one of his best and, sadly, will soon be removed from Netflix's library.
While revisiting movies about cops and violence is fraught with danger in this political climate, McKay and co-writer Chris Henchy's film is refreshing. Instead of playing propaganda for the police, The Other Guys pokes fun of police departments and their incompetence. While the movie stars Samuel L. Jackson and The Rock as hotshot cops, most of the characters are incompetent, so McKay's movie won't be a favorite amongst cops.
The Other Guys is a great comedy/action movie that features a cast that includes Eva Mendes, Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, and Samuel L. Jackson. In this film, two mismatched detectives try to copy the methods of some of the world's most successful cops. The story is hilarious and moving, and the actors are fantastic together. But don't expect to watch The Other Guys on Netflix unless you're a diehard fan of McKay movies.
The Ballad of Buster Scruccs is a two-hour western that initially was announced as an anthology TV series. The film is a collection of six stories set in the American West. It is a classic western, complete with the Coen Brothers' trademark violence. Although it doesn't feature any of the titular characters, you will feel connected to each of these stories.
"The Ballad of Buster Scrugg's" order does matter a little, but the last story, "The Mortal Remains," is particularly dark and creepy. The Coens' oeuvre spans a variety of tonal qualities, which is a good thing when it comes to directing westerns. If you're not a fan of his other films, the series will make for an interesting binge-watch.
While "O Brother Where Art Thou" and "The Founder" are classic westerns, there are a couple of other movies to watch besides these. "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs" is a western anthology starring Tim Blake Nelson, whose role has been a part of several of the Coens' movies. This one is a classic western with some interesting themes.
If you love the adventures of Marty McFly and his friends, there are some great Doc Brown funny movies on Netflix. The story follows a young Marty McFly, who accidentally sends himself back in time to 1955. When he arrives, he disrupts his parents' first meeting and attracts the romantic interest of his mother. Marty must now figure out how to fix his history and return to 1985 with his best friend, Doc Brown.
Back to the Future is a beloved sci-fi comedy series that stars Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly. The film features an Alan Silvestri score and is incredibly precise. The story starts with Marty commandeering Doc Brown's time machine, accidentally traveling to 1955 and meeting his parents when they were teenagers. Watch this time-traveling classic if you're a fan of this classic sci-fi comedy, and you'll have a laugh every time.
If you're looking for some hilarious movies on Netflix, The Office might be the show for you. While it's true that this comedy is set in an office, it's also about budding friendships between coworkers and budding love stories. It balances cringe comedy and moments of love and connection. The Office is an enduring favorite with a wide appeal. Its star, Zoey Deutch, gives a wonderfully witty performance in one of the funniest comedies ever.
This funny Netflix movie has no shortage of laughs, with A-list talent riffing off each other. In fact, the comedy has a very high-rated teen-friendly rating. The Office has a cult following, and the cast and crew work well together. It's also one of the funniest movies on Netflix, so you'll definitely want to check it out. You won't be sorry.
The movies mentioned above are our recommendations regarding the top 6 funny movies on Netflix as of now in 2022, but it is up to you whether or not to watch them. You can also pick up other funny movies to watch as well.
But if you do, then it is advised that you download those movies with a Netflix video downloader from a third party, rather than using the Netflix app, because, with the former, you can have to bear with all the limitations and restrictions.
