Stan's premium titles feature EAC3 5.1 surround sound at 640 kbps, distributing audio across six discrete channels — front left, centre, front right, surround left, surround right, and a dedicated low-frequency effects channel for bass. This is the format used for blockbuster films and flagship Stan Originals where spatial audio placement matters. For titles that carry only stereo audio, Stan provides AAC 2.0 at 192 kbps across two channels.

The difference is substantial: EAC3 5.1 at 640 kbps delivers more than three times the audio data of AAC 2.0 at 192 kbps. Choose between H.264 and H.265 video codecs with HDR10 support

A 4K film that would occupy 35 to 45 GB in H.264 compresses to 15 to 25 GB in H.265 without visible quality loss, making H.265 the preferred choice for users building large local libraries or working with limited storage on a laptop. H.264, on the other hand, offers broader device compatibility: virtually every media player, smart TV, gaming console, and mobile device manufactured in the past decade supports H.264 playback natively. For Stan's HDR10 content, H.265 is the recommended codec, as HDR10 static metadata maps more reliably to the HEVC container and delivers the wide colour gamut and high dynamic range the content was mastered for.

Save Stan videos as MP4 or MKV files

StreamFab offers two container formats for saving Stan content, each suited to different viewing scenarios. MP4 is the universal choice for direct playback: iPhones, iPads, Android devices, smart TVs, and gaming consoles all handle MP4 natively without requiring additional software.
