I spotted this post in the Paramount+ subreddit asking if we can record livestreams on Paramount+. If others have the same question, I wrote this guide for all of you guys to understand what’s possible (and what isn’t) when it comes to saving Paramount+ viewing sessions—whether it’s movies/series like Mission: Impossible or Novocaine, or livestreams.
For livestreams, Paramount+ doesn't have a DVR function for live TV. And if we miss the start, we lose it forever. For on-demand videos, certain titles may restrict screen capture, which can cause common screen recorders to produce a blank or black frame.
Fear not! I’m here today to walk through a few options people talk about for capturing Paramount+ viewing—plus the real-world trade-offs you’ll want to know before you try anything.
If you need primer output quality and processing efficiency, you can jump to part 3 to check my personally verified recommendation.
RecordFab is a recorder specialized for streaming services, and it’s positioned for capturing Paramount+ playback and livestreams. Based on my use, it generally feels more consistent than basic screen recorders on certain setups, and it can maintain up to 1080p output quality for many Paramount+ videos and livestreams.
According to my experience, the most attractive feature of it can be the selectable recording speed from 1x to 2x with a total of 4 levels. That can't often be seen on other screen recorders, and I have to say that it really helps me a lot in saving time.
As for the operations, it utilizes a built-in browser to ensure the recording process won't be interrupted accidentally, and will be able to continue recording in the background after you close the interface.
Download and install RecordFab on your Windows. Launch it and find Paramount+ in All Supported Sites.
Log in to Paramount+ with your account in the built-in browser. Then navigate to the titles you want to record.
Play the video, and RecordFab will detect it. You can click on Start after it's lit and customize the resolution, speed, and duration.
Make sure that all settings are good. Now, click on OK to start recording. The recorded Paramount+ videos can be found in My Files.
PlayOn Home is another popular streaming video recorder. Its recording quality also reached 1080p. As for its unique functions, the one I like most is that it can help you stay on top of new episodes—think queueing or organizing captures when new episodes become available—so you’re not repeating the same manual routine every time.
The pity is, it doesn't have a faster recording speed feature to match the auto-download function. Another point I kinda dislike personally is its old-fashioned interface. I'm not saying it's not good-looking, but I just feel it doesn't look like software running in 2025 with a scribbled individual login panel, but not a completely built-in browser.
You can start its trial by doing as follows, and you will get ad-supported Paramount+ videos recorded in SD resolution, which is about 360p.
Install PlayOn Home on your PC. Then start it and log in to Paramount+ with its login panel first.
Search for the Paramount+ title you want to record on the bar at the top of the interface.
Click on it and you will see a record button. Click it to start recording. You can find the tasks in the sidebar.
This screen recorder, available for Paramount+, was just found by me yesterday. As a free online screen recorder, it takes fewer system resources and drives space to finish the recording tasks on Paramount+. No watermarks and supports Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.
It's really easy to use, with several clicks to adjust the aim recording page and to start recording. But since the network fluctuation has a bigger impact on browser playing quality, it often causes a disaster in online recording quality on Paramount+.
And as for the advanced functions to boost recording speed or make the whole recording process on Paramount+ more effective, they can't be found on this ScreenPal online screen recorder yet.
If you can't figure out how to use it to record Paramount+ videos correctly, I tried it for you and wrote an operation guide here as an example.
Open Paramount+ first. Navigate to the video you want to record.
Open the ScreenPal page and click on Start Recorder to set the Paramount+ tab as the recording aim.
Play the video now and click on the big red round recording button to start recording.
The common disadvantage of screen-recording Paramount+ with the tools mentioned above is clear—from quality loss to slower processing. That’s why I personally lean toward a quicker, more stable workflow: StreamFab Paramount Plus Downloader. And if you’re still asking yourself “can I make my Paramount+ watching available offline?”, you may run into platform limits—so it’s worth understanding what different tools claim to offer (for content you can lawfully access).
Batch saving episodes you can lawfully access for personal offline viewing, with up to full HD output, immersive audio, and common video formats.
The tool claims it can save locally available files for offline viewing in up to 1080p, with EAC3 5.1 audio and MP4/MKV output options, using its built-in workflow.
The most attractive feature, I think, is the way it helps you organize offline viewing—like managing multiple items in one place and reducing repetitive manual work. And that is a real time-saver.
StreamFab Paramount Plus Downloader allows a limited trial before purchase, so you can test how its features behave on your setup. It also offers both Windows and Mac versions.
Download and install StreamFab Paramount Plus Downloader on your PC. Then run it by double-clicking on its icon.
Move to the "VIP Services" section. Then click the Paramount+ icon to log in to it with your activated Paramount+ account.
Navigate and play the video you want. It will pop up a settings window. You can select resolution, audio, and subtitles, etc, now.
Make sure everything is adjusted to your desire. Click on " Download Now" and wait for the download process to finish.
To let you make a better pick without remembering every detail of the software I shared above, here you are a comparison sheet of them with their basic info and unique functionalities.

It depends on your location and Paramount+’s terms. In general, only use tools like these with a valid subscription and only for personal offline viewing where it’s permitted—and it’s not intended for redistribution or sharing.
Now that you’ve seen a few commonly mentioned approaches, you can pick what fits your situation—especially if you hate being stuck without a stable connection (plane rides, remote vacations, you name it).
If you ask for my personal preference, I lean toward StreamFab Paramount Plus Downloader over pure screen recording mainly for convenience and output consistency—less fuss, fewer repeated steps, and easier file management for offline viewing.
Note: This product is intended solely for creating personal backups of streaming content that you can lawfully access (e.g., with a valid subscription). No commercial use, no sharing, and no illegal distribution.
